Top-5 movies of the week - 30.04 - 07.05

I have a new idea to write about interesting fresh movies, which you can watch in the theaters this week. So this week's Top-5 movies from me are:

1. "Fast Five" (2011)

If someone has watched one of the previous movies about races, girls and crime - you know you should wait from this part. Vin Diesel and Paul Walker are reunited to rise the adrenaline in your blood. They're going to steal 100.000.000 $ and get away with it.

2. "Water for Elephants" (2011)

"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the most spectacular show on Earth!"

A romantic and magical love story about a veterinary school student Jacob and a star performer Marlena. But her husband August dislikes his wife's passion for student. I think it is a good choice for Robert Pattinson to be remembered thanks to the good movies not the strange saga. Reese Witherspoon looks fabulous here and my favorite German Christoph Waltz plays in this movie betrayed husband.

3. "Hanna" (2011)

If someone hasn't watched this adventure - go and see it. This is a great intense story about a 16-years old killer, who was trained to take vengeance on everyone who betrayed her father. Young actress Saoirse Ronan shows her big talent and makes this movie very unexpected. Also here we can see Cate Blanchett as a big boss and Olivia Williams as a good friend. This movie continuous the new popular genre, where a girl or a woman can kill everyone, who she likes to be killed.

4. "The High Cost of Living" (2011)

The story of a young pregnant woman whose world falls apart when she loses her baby in a hit and run accident. Then she meets a guy, whose life is incredible miserable and who is responsible for that accident. But woman sees in this unlucky man something bright and it turns to be a real drama, because she has husband. The story is played by Zach Braff and Isabelle Blais.

5. "Scream 4" (2011)

You know it's a good comedy with hilarious freak maniac who still tries to make their victims scream. You better watch it with friends and you'll have one funny evening.

"Transformers: Dark of the Moon" - Trailer 2

Here is a new trailer of "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" by Michael Bay - and it's more impressive than previous. I like so much Autobots - they're made so real with feelings and human emotions. I would definitely watch it in the movie theater.

Release date - June 29, 2011.

"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2" - Official Trailer

Finally, we've got a new trailer of the 2nd Part of Harry Potter adventures. The creators included in this promo many new moments from Hogwarts Battle (you can even see Fred's death). As always the main speech is said by Ralph Fiennes as Voldemort, because his presence makes any trailer more dangerous. Interesting moment also was when Harry and Dark Lord are jumping from the castle's wall - I hope David Yates will surprise us.

My favorite lines are:

"- Only I can live forever." (Voldemort)

"- Join me and confront your faith." (Voldemort)

No more words, I know you're also exited to see this trailer. Watch and enjoy!

"Inglourious Basterds" (2009) - Quotes

Thanks to the IMDB I've found a couple of my favorite quotes from a boody movie by Quentin Tarantino "Inglourious Basterds". I rewatched it yesterday and was shocked by his talent again. But better watch this movie again - it's totally worth your time.

PS And don't take the story to serious.

Lt. Aldo Raine: My name is Lt. Aldo Raine and I'm putting together a special team, and I need me eight soldiers. Eight Jewish-American soldiers. Now, y'all might've heard rumors about the armada happening soon. Well, we'll be leaving a little earlier. We're gonna be dropped into France, dressed as civilians. And once we're in enemy territory, as a bushwhackin' guerrilla army, we're gonna be doin' one thing and one thing only... killin' Nazis. Now, I don't know about y'all, but I sure as hell didn't come down from the goddamn Smoky Mountains, cross five thousand miles of water, fight my way through half of Sicily and jump out of a fuckin' air-o-plane to teach the Nazis lessons in humanity. Nazi ain't got no humanity. They're the foot soldiers of a Jew-hatin', mass murderin' maniac and they need to be dee-stroyed. That's why any and every every son of a bitch we find wearin' a Nazi uniform, they're gonna die. Now, I'm the direct descendant of the mountain man Jim Bridger. That means I got a little Injun in me. And our battle plan will be that of an Apache resistance. We will be cruel to the Germans, and through our cruelty they will know who we are. And they will find the evidence of our cruelty in the disemboweled, dismembered, and disfigured bodies of their brothers we leave behind us. And the German won't not be able to help themselves but to imagine the cruelty their brothers endured at our hands, and our boot heels, and the edge of our knives. And the German will be sickened by us, and the German will talk about us, and the German will fear us. And when the German closes their eyes at night and they're tortured by their subconscious for the evil they have done, it will be with thoughts of us they are tortured with. Sound good?
The Basterds: YES, SIR!
Lt. Aldo Raine: That's what I like to hear. But I got a word of warning for all you would-be warriors. When you join my command, you take on debit. A debit you owe me personally. Each and every man under my command owes me one hundred Nazi scalps. And I want my scalps. And all y'all will git me one hundred Nazi scalps, taken from the heads of one hundred dead Nazis. Or you will die tryin'.

Lt. Aldo Raine: Well Werner, that's where you're wrong, because that's exactly what I expect. I need to about Germans hiding in them trees, and you need to tell me, and you need to tell me. And you need to tell me right now. Now take your finger and point out on this map where this party's being held, how many's coming, and what they brought to play with.
Sgt. Werner Rachtman: I respectfully refuse.
Lt. Aldo Raine: [a smack is heard offscreen] Here that? That's Sgt. Donny Donowitz. But you might know him better by his nickname. The Bear Jew. Now, if you heard of Aldo the Apache, you gotta have heard of the Bear Jew.
Sgt. Werner Rachtman: I have heard of the Bear Jew.
Lt. Aldo Raine: What did you hear about him, Werner?
Sgt. Werner Rachtman: He beats German soldiers with a club
Lt. Aldo Raine: He bashes their brains in with a baseball bat is what he does. Now, Werner, I'm gonna ask you one more goddamn time, and if you still "respectfully refuse," I'm callin' the Bear Jew over here, and he's gonna take that big-ole bat of his, and he's gonna beat you to death with it. Now take your wiener schnitzel lickin' finger and point out on this map what I want to know.
Sgt. Werner Rachtman: Fuck you.
[pause]
Sgt. Werner Rachtman: And your Jew dogs!
[the Basterds all laugh]
Lt. Aldo Raine: Actually, Werner, we're all tickled to here you say that. Frankly, watchin' Donny beat Nazis to death is is the closest we ever get to goin' to the movies.
[Calling offscreen]
Lt. Aldo Raine: DONNY!
Sgt. Donny Donowitz: [From offscreen] Yeah?
Lt. Aldo Raine: We got a German here who wants to die for his country! Oblige him!

Lt. Aldo Raine: [Aldo shoots Hans' driver Hermann, and gives Utivich a knife] Scalp Hermann.
Col. Hans Landa: Are you mad? What have you done? I made a deal with your general for that man's life!
Lt. Aldo Raine: Yeah, they made that deal, but they don't give a fuck about him. They need you.
Col. Hans Landa: You'll be shot for this!
Lt. Aldo Raine: Nah, I don't think so. More like chewed out. I've been chewed out before.

Fredrick Zoller: [shouting to the camera, acting in Nation's Pride] Who wants to send a message to Germany?
[Nation's Pride is interrupted by Shosanna's movie]
Shosanna Dreyfus: I have a message for Germany.
[Hitler and Goebbels watch in shock]
Shosanna Dreyfus: [her image on the screen smirks] That you are all going to die.
Adolf Hitler: [yelling in German] Enough! Stop it!
Joseph Goebbels: [yelling in German] Turn off the projector!
Shosanna Dreyfus: And I want you to look deep into the face of the Jew that is going to do it!
Joseph Goebbels: [in German as the audience begins to shout in protest and anger] I don't know what's going on! That does not belong in my movie!
Shosanna Dreyfus: [her image on the screen smiles] Marcel... burn it down.
Marcel: [standing behind the screen, he smiles] Oui, Shosanna.

"Priest" (2011) - Trailer

I don't think that director Scott Charles Stewart has a talent. But his new movie "Priest" is going to be much better than his previous works. It's synopsis says - "a western-fused post-apocalyptic thriller, is set in an alternate world -- one ravaged by centuries of war between man and vampires. The story revolves around a legendary Warrior Priest (Paul Bettany) from the last Vampire War who now lives in obscurity among the other downtrodden human inhabitants in walled-in dystopian cities ruled by the Church. When his niece (Lily Collins) is abducted by a murderous pack of vampires, Priest breaks his sacred vows to venture out on an obsessive quest to find her before they turn her into one of them. He is joined on his crusade by his niece's boyfriend (Cam Gigandet), a trigger-fingered young wasteland sheriff, and a former Warrior Priestess (Maggie Q) who possesses otherworldly fighting skills." (by RottenTomatoes). The most exiting part for me is actor Paul Bettany, who is great at playing such powerful and emotional character. Also the soundtrack is good thanks to the composer Christopher Young. I heard 3D is bad, but I never liked this special effect. Oh, I almost forgot - I love this vampires - they're real beasts!

"Grease" music (1978)

I want to share music from my favorite musical "GREASE" (1978) with young John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John directed by talented Randal Kleiser. I've watched it many times and it always makes me smile. This movie has inside some magic of the 50s with their cloth, make-up, haircuts and romantic songs. And here are the best songs with some lyrics which always will be on my IPod.

Grease - "Summer Nights"

Summer lovin' had me a blast

Summer lovin' happened so fast

I met a girl crazy for me

Met a boy cute as can be

Grease - "You're the One That I Want"

I got chills.
They're multiplyin'.
And I'm losin' control.
'Cause the power
you're suplyin',
it's electrifyin'!

You better shape up,
'cause I need a man
and my heart is set on you.
You better shape up;
you better understand
to my heart I must be true.

Nothin' left, nothin' left for me to do.

Grease - "We Go Together"

We go together like
rama lama lama
ke ding a de dinga a dong
remembered for ever like
shoo bop shoo wadda wadda yipitty boom de boom

“TRANSFORMERS: THE DARK OF THE MOON” (2011) - new pictures

This summer is going to be really hot with big movie premieres. One of them will be on the 1st July - the world will see a new movie  "Transformers: The Dark of the Moon"  by director Michael Bay. He would impress us with 3D, but I hope I'll watch a movie, which I would like rewatch someday without two-colored glasses. The cast is also great - Shia LaBeouf, Josh Duhamel, John Turturro, Alan Tudyk, Patrick Dempsey, John Malkovich and Hugo Weaving's voice, but I'd rather choose Megan Fox than Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. Still think those guys will give me an excellent adventure and beautifully realistic Autobots & Decepticons.

"X-Men" Style

Continuing writing about impressive and memorable costumes I remembered one of my favorite comics adaptation "X-Men". Two talented designers Louise Mingenbach and Judianna Makovsky did a good job with the appearance of the characters. They underlined their superpowers and made the characters unique but from the same team (goodies or baddies). So here it is some of my favorite costumes of Storm, Rogue, Wolverine, Magneto, Cyclops, Jean Grey and others. And, of course, I enjoy their leather jackets.

"Step Up 2" (2008) Final Battle

I have watched a lot of different movies about different kind of dances. Mostly, I was impressed by hip-hop. This is one of my all time favorite dance battles. Actors played great but their dance is the best part of this movie "Step Up 2". Directed by Jon Chu with Briana Evigan and Robert Hoffman. Also I like how curly Adam G. Sevani dances. Watch and enjoy!

Hogwarts Style

Today I want to start a new blog topic - movie style. I will tell you about costumes (and maybe later about decorations) from different kind of movies - historical, adventures, westerns, science fiction, musicals, horrors and others. Of course, my first post is about one of the epic stories of our time "Harry Potter". When I watched the first part I was impressed by magical atmosphere which was created by actors, director Chris Columbus, composer John Williams, designers, special effects crew and decorators. I was a little bit younger than 11-years old characters, but I wanted to wear such Gryffindor's cloak. During so many years their costumes have changed, so I found pictures from seven movies to show you how they've grew up with their characters. Let's start trip to the past and back to the future!
