Are you my hero, Batman?

Who is that hero?

This comic book hero has his interesting history of fighting some villains (freaks) and saving his native Gotham City. Though he was appearing in comics since 1939, Batman along with his alter ego Bruce Wayne always looks young, full of energy and ready to save the situation again and again.

However I like him least of all heroes, who have ever been created by humanities fantasy, his enemies seems to be more fun. Joker, Mr. Penguin, Two-Face, Riddler, Mr. Freeze, Poison Ivy and girls in black leather, Catwoman and Batgirl. They're pure freaks even if they have a 'nice' alter ego.

Behind the scenes

I saw a couple of movies about Batman - "Batman" (1989) by Tim Burton, then I started watching "Batman Returns" (1992), but something went wrong (I can't remember what) and I didn't saw even a half of it. I didn't miss "The Dark Knight" (2008) and because of Heath Ledger's appearance I'd never regret I spent more than 2 hours watching it. Also I've seen some scenes from "Batman and Robin", which has to be the forth and the last part of the Burton's story, with Arnold Schwarzenegger as Mr. Freeze (what?) and Uma Thurman as Poison Ivy (what? part 2). And, if it counts, I saw "Catwoman" with Halle Berry (it's not more than 5/10).

Since the very beginning Batman has been played by many talented actors. Val Kilmer, Michael Keaton, George Clooney and Christian Bale tried on his costume and fought evil. I wasn't impressed by the acting of Bale (though I find a couple of movies, he starred in, great) and not so far from him stands Keaton. It looks like they desperately wanted to be overshadowed by Jack Nicholson and later by Heath Ledger, who were great at portraying Batman's crazy opponent Joker.

So, are you my hero, Batman?

I should say 'no'. But still I'm reading news about "The Dark Knight Rises" (2012), watching some videos from the set and posting about it here. I'd never watch it in 3D or IMAX or other 'modern' format, but when I'm going to see it, I'll do it not because of Batman, who is played by Christian Bale again, but because of Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Liam Neeson, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Marion Cotillard. Sorry, B-man.

FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS (2011) - "NY Flash Mob" clip

I'm watching "Friends with Benefits" with adorable Mila Kunis and charming Justin Timberlake. Their characters make a great comedy couple and their 'first sex' scene is incredibly hilarious. But the moment I like the most so far is a flash mob on the Times square, because it's unexpected and fun.

"The Rum Diary" (2011) - First stills

Empire magazine website revealed the first images from "The Rum Diary", starring Johnny Depp. By the way, expression on his face is priceless on the last one picture.

"The Hunger Games" (2012) - Teaser

I just saw a new teaser of upcoming fantasy movie "The Hunger Games", based on the best-selling novel by Suzanne Collins, and though stills and first poster impressed me, this video just disappointed me. It reminds me a bit of "Twilight", so I hope Gary Ross, the director who took part in creating "Big", "Pleasantville" and "The Tale of Despereaux", won't make this one too boring.

Starring Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Elizabeth Banks, Woody Harrelson, Lenny Kravitz.

"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2" (2011) - Rare posters

Yes, this story is over, but I've found some rare character posters and thought I should post them. Probably, some of them are fan-made, still all posters look good.

With Marvel Studios' The Avengers scheduled for release for May 4, 2012, Marvel has compiled a series of stories aimed at familiarizing audiences with the major characters in the film. "Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows" (2011) - First stills

The first stills from upcoming "Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows" by Guy Ritchie have been revealed. Holmes and Watson are as usual handsome. Also we've got the first look at the main villain, Professor Moriarty. Don't know why, but I thought they will hide him until some dramatic moment.

Starring Robert Downey Jr., Jude Law, Jared Harris (son of talented actor Richard Harris), Eddie Marsan, Stephen Fry and Noomi Rapace.

"The Woman in Black" (2012) - Poster

Upcoming horror "The Woman in Black" gets its first official poster. Daniel Radcliffe along with some badly visible ghost are on it. Scary, isn't it?..

BREATHLESS (1960) - Posters collection

I'm still under the impression of "BREATHLESS" ("À bout de souffle") by Jean-Luc Godard, starring Jean-Paul Belmondo and Jean Seberg. So I've found some posters, which are as beautiful as movie itself.
