Top-5 movies of the week - 08.05 - 15.05

There were a couple big releases this week, so I'm choosing again five movies, which have a good chance to be liked by you.

1. I'm very exited about the last Jodie Foster's drama "The Beaver". She directs and co-stars with brilliant Mel Gibson in the story about how a successful family man looses himself, when he looses his wife and sons. Mel portrays this man - Walter Black and helps him to find the meaning of life. But no matter what he tries, Walter can't be cured until a beaver hand puppet enters his life. And this tragedy seems to be not so desperate when Beaver fills Walter's life with some hope and comic moments.

2. One of the most perspective movies of this month is clearly "Thor". Epic story about The Mighty Thor, who is a powerful but arrogant warrior whose reckless actions reignite an ancient war, should prepare the audience to the new adventures of not so mighty, but charming and sly pirate. Also "Thor" is interesting because of good performances by Natalie Portman and Anthony Hopkins.

3. I'm writing not much about documentaries, so it's time to change this. "Born to be Wild" is an inspired story of love, dedication and the remarkable bond between humans and animals. This film documents orphaned orangutans and elephants and the extraordinary people who rescue and raise them-saving endangered species one life at a time. The narrator of this story is Morgan Freeman, so it wouldn't be boring story. Stunningly captured in IMAX 3D, "Born to be Wild 3D" is a heartwarming adventure transporting moviegoers into the lush rainforests of Borneo with world-renowned primatologist Dr. Birute Galdikas, and across the rugged Kenyan savannah with celebrated elephant authority Dame Daphne Sheldrick, as they and their teams rescue, rehabilitate and return these incredible animals back to the wild.

4. The poster of action movie "Source Code" reminds me a bit "Inception", but this story is more complicated. When decorated soldier Captain Colter Stevens wakes up in the body of an unknown man, he discovers he's part of a mission to find the bomber of a Chicago commuter train. In an assignment unlike any he's ever known, he learns he's part of a government experiment called the "Source Code", a program that enables him to cross over into another man's identity in the last 8 minutes of his life. It's a smart action-thriller directed by Duncan Jones, starring Jake Gyllenhaal, beautiful Michelle Monaghan, Vera Farmiga and Jeffrey Wright.

5. And what is the spring without a predictable love-story? This week we have a romantic comedy "Something Borrowed" with young Hollywood actors and actresses as Kate Hudson, Ginnifer Goodwin, John Krasinski and Colin Egglesfield. It tells us a story about how hard can be friendship between a "prom-queen" and loyal girl, when their relationship is interrupted by love.
