"Django Unchained" (2012) - Two Trailers

I must confess that I'm a huge Quentin Tarantino's fan, but I watched the first trailer for his new spaghetti western "Django Unchained" just a few days ago. If you are interested why, I say I needed to prepare myself for it. I wasn't afraid of it might disappoint me, because Tarantino hasn't made any film yet, which I don't like. I just wanted to prolong this waiting of the first trailer. And while I waited, they released another one! So here we go.

You know that with such great cast "Django Unchained" has no other option as to be something like a new masterpiece. My two all-time favourite actors Christoph Waltz and Leonardo DiCaprio were perfect for those parts.

So far the scene, where Dr. King Schultz meets Django, is one of my favourites! And I can't wait to see more of Samuel L. Jackson, because those few seconds weren't enough!

I heard that Will Smith had a chance to play the main character, but he turned down this part, because of "Men in Black 3". Shame, this film could have been more epic with him. But Jamie Foxx is a good choice for this part instead.

"Django Unchained" (2012) - First pictures!

Finally, the creators of "Django Unchained", Quentin Tarantino's spaghetti western, began to release some promo stuff. Now we got the first look at Leonardo DiCaprio, Christoph Waltz and Jamie Foxx, who look very great in those costumes. May I be the one to start Oscar rumours right now? Because there is a big chance that the work of its costume department will be appreciated.

Earlier the synopsis of the film was released, you can read it here.

P.S. And I remind you that no matter how bad-ass Waltz is looking on this picture, his Dr. King Schultz is going to be a good guy. However you must beware of DiCaprio's Calvin Candie, he must be a ruthless sadist.

"Django Unchained" (2012) - Teaser poster and some thoughts

This film is on my top waiting list since the first time I've heard about 'new Tarantino's project'. Quentin Tarantino got style, and this teaser poster for his spaghetti western "Django Unchained" proves it again. But there is a huge 'but' about it. This 'totally new' promo material from The Weinstein Company looks like an old poster, made by a fan and released many months ago. I just hope that his work was appreciated, not copied or stolen. Or maybe it is still a fan-art, but promoted by The Weinstein Company. I'm confused and now I'm waiting to see something really different, when another poster will be released.

"Django Unchained" is about the times of slavery, which is very good at broking human lives. If you have seen "Inglourious Basterds", you know that the story won't be about historical truth.

The plot says: 'With the help of his mentor, a slave-turned-bounty hunter sets out to rescue his wife from a brutal Mississippi plantation owner.'

You must have heard that Joseph Gordon-Levitt supposed to play a part there, but we won't see him in this film. However, we still have a great crew: Christoph Waltz, Samuel L. Jackson, Kurt Russell, Jamie Foxx, Leonardo DiCaprio, Don Johnson. Oh, they will make it a masterpiece. By the way, Christoph Waltz is now playing a good character, so don't expect to see Hans Landa.

Next Christmas is going to be very bloody.

"Carnage" (2011) - First clip

The first clip from "Carnage" is revealed. This witty and dramatic story is about two couples whose sons got in some trouble and their parents want to help them. But the more they drink the less they talk about something that can solve this problem. Directed by Roman Polanski.

From this short fragment, I can surely tell I'm very exited to see this movie. I like a character played by John C. Reilly. And it looks like the other man in a room played by Christoph Waltz has more with him in common than you might think at first. Their wives will have hard time trying to force them thinking in the right direction. Jodie Foster and Kate Winslet are a perfect match for John and Christoph.

"Carnage" (2011) - Trailer

Finally, we've got an official trailer of the upcoming movie "Carnage", directed by Roman Polanski. As I expected it is a dramatic story with some comedy moments. The story takes place in New York, where two parent couples meet for a dinner to discuss their children and an accident they've been involved in. The main parts are played by Kate Winslet and Christoph Waltz, Jodie Foster and John C. Reilly. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw Kate playing a totally drunk person. Her line "I am glad our son kicked the shit out of your son and i wipe my ass with your human rights!" just shocked me.

"Carnage" (2011) - First poster

I like pop-art, so I just couldn't miss a chance to show you this first poster of the upcoming movie "Carnage" by Roman Polanski. I like the first photos of Jodie and John, the third one of  Kate and the middle one of Christoph.

Starring Kate Winslet and Christoph Waltz, Jodie Foster and John C. Reilly, it will be presented at the 68th Venice Film Festival.

"The Three Musketeers in 3D" - New international posters

It has been released more character posters of the new 3D adaptation of the novel by Alexandre Dumas. Now we can see how Orlando Bloom looks as Duke of Buckingham, Milla Jovovich as Milady, Christoph Waltz as Cardinal Richelieu and Mads Mikkelsen as Rochefort. Also I like Logan Lerman, who plays D’Artagnan, more with dark hair - he looks more mature. But Luke Evans (Aramis) again looks exactly like Orlando Bloom from "Pirates of the Caribbean". Most of all I like Milla and Christoph, who really look great portraying their characters from 17th century. And by the way, these new character posers are in German.

"Water for Elephants" (2011) - My opinion

I've just watched a drama "Water for Elephants" by director Francis Lawrence. It's the first costume movie for him, but I think he did his job well. Visually it looks impressive, with all this retro decorations, beautiful performances in the circus and gorgeous costumes. This story is based on a book written by Sara Gruen. It takes place in USA, in the years of the Great Depression. I was glad to see actor Christoph Waltz playing a brutal villain, who can't control his rage towards people and circus animals. He looked like a real devil. But truly, his August is an unhappy man, who is afraid to loose it all. Also I came to conclusion that Robert Pattinson still can play good. His character is a brave veterinarian, a defender of hurt women, poor workers and miserable animals. Reese Witherspoon, who played a femme fatale, was very beautiful and sensitive. Together they made a romantic duet with a bit of tension. These roles really helped them to step out of their usual acting line.

I find its plot interesting and dynamic. Love story, tragedies, feisty characters - it didn't bored me at all. But the final scenes disappointed me so much. This ending is good, but it takes more to make it as spectacular as all previous moments. Francis Lawrence failed it, even with his previous experience of making dramas. He made "Water for Elephants" overbrutal and his biggest mistake again was that I was going to cry when furious August was beating Rosy, instead of being emotional when Jacob and Marlena were escaping. Still the movie is good for one time. And my visual receptors are satisfied for today.

- 7/10 -

Memorable quotes (there are more, but I've found just these):

August: "You do right by me, I'll show you a life most suckers can't even dream of."

August: "As long as we can walk, we play."

August: "Of course an innocent woman would love to get down on her knees."

"The Three Musketeers in 3D" (2011) - Trailer

I've just watched trailer of the new story about Three Musketeers. For me it looks like a mix of "Sherlock Holmes" by Guy Ritchie, "Pirates of the Caribbean" by Gore Verbinski and "Les aventures extraordinaires d'Adèle Blanc-Sec" by Luc Besson - witty, breathtaking, dangerous and with some mystery. I really liked the costumes and the decor (the palace impressed me).

"The Three Musketeers in 3D" are directed by Paul W.S. Anderson ("Resident Evil", "DOA: Dead or Alive" and "Pandorum"). The plot says: "The hot-headed young D'Artagnan along with three former legendary but now down on their luck Musketeers must unite and defeat a beautiful double agent and her villainous employer from seizing the French throne and engulfing Europe in war."

I was surprised to see here some of my favourite actors (but they aren't playing main parts) - Orlando Bloom as Duke of Buckingham, Christoph Waltz as Cardinal Richelieu and Til Schweiger as Cagliostro.

The movie release date is 14 October 2011 (USA).
